Summary

The goal of the SPICE kick-off meeting was

1. to establish the state-of-the-art in computational seismology through presentations of all the involved partner institutions and their expertise
2. to define task groups for the specific research areas and other technical aims that were put forward in the proposal
3. to specify the research directions of Ph.D. and postdoctoral positions
4. to identify the key scientific questions that will be addressed, and define pathways to achieve these goals
5. to detail the organization of the research+training workshops
6. to define the management structure and inform the contractors about administrative issues and obligations

The following task groups (TGs) will be in charge of implementing the project:

• TG Small Scale
• TG Local Scale
• TG Planetary Scale
