Software required for the practicals:

1. Fortran compiler F90/95, should be on all Linux distributions

2. Python and related software: I cite here an email by Geza Seriani:

All the tools exists both in source code or in pre-compiled tarball and in various free editions
and for almost all platforms.
Python exist already in the various Linux distributions and in Mac OSX.
I need Python/Numeric/numarray/Wxpython/Gnuplot.
