Postdoc position - GNV-INGV Project V4
In the framework of GNV-INGV project V4 a two-year Post-Doc Position at RISSC LAb (University of Naples "Federico II") is available on the following subject:
Development of innovative tools for a refined seismic imaging of the volcanic structure
This position will form part of the Project entitled "Conception, verification, and application of innovative techniques to study active volcanoes", a project coordinated by DSF-UniNa and funded by National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in agreement with the Department of Civil Protection.
Applications are invited to:
- Develop and apply innovative tools for a refined seismic imaging of the volcanic structure, which uses the whole waveform amplitude information retrievable on seismic data (arrival times and amplitudes of primary and reflected/ converted phases).
- Process and analyse seismic reflection data acquired in unconventional lay-out geometries, global offset ranges and heterogeneous structure environment.
- Reconstruct reflector morphology from modeling/migration of reflected/converted phases for global offset data.
- Characterize the impedance contrasts at discontinuities in a volcanic structure by measurements of amplitude variation of the reflected/converted wave fields vs offset (AVO).
The appointment is for a two years fellowship and the annual gross salary is around 32.000,00€ (which includes taxes).
The applications (including a curriculum vitae) should to be sent to Prof. Aldo Zollo (Project Coordinator and Responsible of RISSC Lab): E-mail: aldo.zollo@na.infn.it
